SEGRO wins "Warehouse/ Industrial Development of the Year" in CIJ Real Estate Awards 2012

SEGRO, Europe's leading owner-manager and developer of industrial property, received "Warehouse/ Industrial Development of the Year" Award for the new distribution centre developed for Decathlon as part of SEGRO Business Park Gliwice. The award was announced at the Construction and Investment Journal Gala held in InterContinental Hotel on November 8, 2012.

The CIJ Awards is a prestigious competition organised in Poland for the eleventh time by the CEE CIJ, Central & Eastern Europe's leading Real Estate magazine. The Awards organised by Roberts Publishing Media Group were established 13 years ago in Prague, Czech Republic and have since expanded to four other CEE countries to include Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

The jury of the contest consists of the representatives of the most prominent real estate specialist. The Awards are designed to give recognition to the commercial real estate products and companies that have achieved the highest level of excellence. This year SEGRO's facility for Decathlon was recognised the best project in the category "Warehouse / Industrial Development of the Year".

The new distribution centre of Decathlon, completed in August 2012, is a build-to-suit facility designed in line with a very individual requirement of the tenant. It comprises 31,700 sq m of modern business space and has the expansion potential of another 10,000 sq m. The building effectively combines the cutting-edge technology with comfortable and convenient working environment. The newest SEGRO's project for Decathlon is also notable for its high standards in terms of the security of the building as well as the safety of the tenant's employees. Moreover, the investment meets the high-level sustainability requirements.
